What to expect: Mood Walks is a province wide initiative that promotes physical activity in nature, or “green exercise,” as a way to improve both physical and mental health. Led by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario, in partnership with Hike Ontario and Conservation Ontario. The program aims to target four key elements (physical activity, social connection, skill building and nature).

Weekly Themes Include:

Skill building activities built into each weekly walk

  • Communication
  • Mindfulness
  • Healing Art
  • Gratitude Journal

 

Join us each week rain or shine. In the event of heavy rain we will walk inside the Civic Complex.

 

Location: Lamoureux Park (Meet at the stairs)

When: Oct 3, 10, 16, 23                                                                                                                         11:00am-12:00pm followed by a light lunch (free)

Registration Cut-off: September 29th at 3:00pm

Mental Illness Awareness Walk

Mental Illness Awareness Week, which takes place October 1st to 7th, 2023 is an annual national public education campaign designed to help open the eyes of Canadians to the reality of mental illness.

To mark this campaign, the CMHA Champlain East is organizing an event in the Cornwall community, and we invite the public to participate.
